Which is Your Type of Fuel??

Petrol?  Gasoline? Diesel?  Which is your type of fuel that runs your engine?  NO LOL, not talking about THAT type of fuel and THAT type of Engine.

Last weekend, I met up with an old friend and we got into talking about relationships and personal characteristic, what are we looking for and he said something really interesting.  He described it as "her love is what's keeping my engine running" and that got me thinking.  I think it's a really nice metaphor to correctly describe a lot of situations that we are in today.

The engine that we are talking about here is our heart and the fuel is the driving force behind what's motivating us, keeping us determined and always looking forward.  Always reaching out higher with each passing day and trying so hard to just succeed.

What's yours?  Which is your fuel that fires up your engine?

My interpretation of my mechanical heart and my fuel.  Done in Photoshop CS3.

I gave it a short thought.  Love and Family is definitely in the equation but that's not the only equation.  There are multiple factors or fuels that keeps a person's engine running.  Perhaps it's for money.  Perhaps its for yourself.  Then I realized, whichever factor you chose, it is not of importance.  Important thing is it keeps you looking forward, never wanting to stop whatever you are doing and only giving yourself room for improvement.

So what about you?  Which is YOUR type of fuel?

Behind each of this factor, there's a short story to it.

The ones who chooses LOVE as their fuel are usually a person of more sentimental and emotional values who uses ones wit and time to learn new things to satisfy their partner.  They would do the impossible if they could.

The one who chooses MONEY is usually someone who grew up in extreme environments:  They are either pretty rich to begin with, or pretty poor and when they have a chance to make their own money, this motivation usually drives them like fire.  Just remember to keep a look out and not let the fire burn you.

The one who chooses FAMILY are ones that has very close bonds with their parents, their partners or at times for their children.  This is someone who simply wants the best for their family.

The one who chooses SELF is someone who wants to prove themselves very hard, very self motivated and nothing is going to stop them from succeeding and making it bigger than what they already have.  They are not selfless, they simply has high pride and believes that they alone can make a huge change to their surrounding and make it better.

No one is always limited to just ONE factor because only the sky is the limit.  If you have more than one of this fuels that runs your engine, you will go a long way from here and most likely than not, to achieve your goals.

Good day, people.

Some Hardcore Truth about Relationship - Are you IN or are you OUT?

No, not another love story or another 50 list of what you should do to improve your relationship or finding your "One True Love".  You know I am not corny like that >D

Yesterday I came across this really good read, written by Ian, about relationship and I think it's one of the best relationship article that I've read in a very long time so I would really like to share it with you.

It sticks to reality and not fantasies but it rings a bell of truth in each sentence.

Original Image from Here

Ian's wise words:

During a seminar, a woman asked," How do I know if I am with the right person?"

The author then noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so he said, "It depends. Is that your partner?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?" Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind
replied the author.

Here's the answer.

Every relationship has a cycle… In the beginning; you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls,
want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet."Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love fades. It's a natural cycle of EVERY relationship.

Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your partner might start asking, "Am I with the right person?" And as you reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when relationships breakdown.

People blame their partners for their unhappiness and look outside for fulfillment. Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes.

Infidelity is the most common. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your relationship. It lies within it.

I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later.

Because (listen carefully to this):

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work. Make no mistake about it.

Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your partner), Just as there are physical laws Of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. If you know how to apply these laws, the results are predictable.

Love is therefore a "decision". Not just a feeling.

Remember this always: God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let GO! ♥

And that, ladies and gentleman, is Ian's story.  I like how true it is and it does not delude the readers into thinking their sleeping beauty or knight in shinning armour will just come and sweep you off your feet like how Walt Disney depicted love should be.  Of course there's a minority of people who is living out their fairytale life but for the majority of us, this is the road to follow.

Giving and taking.  Learning and understanding.  You can't just have your partner bend to your will and needs all the time.  He/she is not a rod of Iron and you are not Magneto.

Happy loving.

Questing in Online Gaming = Chasing After Girls

Random Thursday thoughts.

I am actually a semi huge online game person, especially MMORPG aka Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.  No, not those type of BDSM Role play games but rather those like Guild Wars, Ragnarok Online or Left for Dead 2 where there are ready made characters and you may or may not be able to change the appearance of the characters, usually does not have a preset story lines and you could just do whatever you want in the game like hunting monsters or finishing quests to get an item or to level up, or just go online and chat with people from all over the world.  I am also not a self proclaim gamer girl because I am not until that extend and I doubt I will ever be.  I suck at aiming or killing stuff but it's fun to escape the real world sometimes and just become someone with super magical powers in a game and wear ridiculously pretty clothes in game >D

Check this out.  You go from this

Look at how pretty and awesome they look!! I am undeniably a HUGEEEEEE fan of Ragnarok Online ONE and I have been playing non-stop for several years at one point of time in my life and currently on and off, jumping from servers to servers.  Left for Dead 1 & 2 is cool, you could be either the survivors killing off zombies or you could be the zombies trying to kill off survivors! (I convince myself with each passing year that it is aokay to be young at heart! T_T)

Then just the other day, a random thought struck me.  It seems to me like doing quests on MMORPG is somehow similar to the process of chasing after a girl!  Except harder.  Now there's 2 questions on your mind.

First:  What the heck is questing?

Second:  I can't see the any relation whatsoever between questing and courting a girl.

There there.

Well you can think of questing in a game is somewhat similar to 'finishing an assignment' in real life where you have to collect materials, do certain things within a time frame and if you manage to do everything in the exact order, you would have finished the quest.  It's like how one usually collects data then type everything out in their assignment then pass it up to their lecturers within certain time frame and you are considered done!  But just because you finished it (assignment or quest) doesn't mean you will get a full 100% or the item that you want!  That's the annoying part about assignment quest.

Why would one do the quest if it's so troublesome?  Well at times it's a requirement, just as your assignment.  You gotta do it not because you like it but because you have to in order to get to the next level or to pass that frigging paper!  Or at times, there are certain special items that you cannot just buy in-game or you have to purchase them with real money and you don't wish to so you resort to questing.

Questing is usually a pain in the ass as it takes a long time to complete, comes with instructions after instructions and if you miss one instruction, you are screwed up.  At times, there are even hidden instructions that you can only unlock after doing certain steps!

I mean, questing in a game reminds me of the scenario of a guy chasing after a girl!  Takes a long time  to achieve, superbly complicated and if you miss one step or put one toe out of the line, you can kiss the girl bye bye and even if you DO manage to complete the quest courting, your girl might not turn out just the way you thought they would be! They could come with an extra compulsive PMS behaviour every other day except 5 days in the month where they are PMS free, OR so overly attached that she tells you during Easter it is time for your sperm to swim towards her eggs!  Or the golden word:  Friendzoned.

It feels like that towards quest items too.  When you are doing the quest you feel overly excited and perhaps at times you set your expectations way too high and when you fail, you feel superbly dejected or when you succeed, it turns out to be something that you might not like.

Of course not every relationship or quest is like that.  At times after the long hours of grinding and courting and you have finally succeeded, you come to realize that this is the exact thing that you have been looking for like how Taylor Swift pens it "memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favourite song".  There are of course always a happy ending to everything <3

Lol like I said, random thoughts.  Doesn't have to make sense.  Just keeping myself happy <3

100th Followers! Time to Celebrate!

Yes I am a very direct person so as the title implicates, YAY TO HUNDREDTH FOLLOWER on BOTH Google Friend Connect (though it's going away soon) and also Facebook!! To be very honest, though I've always wished to have that many readers one day, I've never dreamt that this day would come and it came so fast that I felt like I've been hit by a bullet train.  That's how happy I am!

When I first started out (there goes the grandmother story), I always content myself that as long as there's just ONE reader out there reading my blog, I will continue writing and what do I know, 9 months later and on April's Fool day, I have one hundred times the amount of what I initially wished for.  100 may be like a quarter or one tenth of the readers you have but with this dream in mind, I will get there one fine day and be one of the stars shining among all of you <3  We all gotta start from zero (literally) but there's no stopping once this engine starts running!

I just want to thank each and every one of you who has read my tl;dr (too long; didn't read / to long to read) posts, nonsensical posts and yet still stayed, liked (or laughed) at my stuff and at last, comments on them.  Your comments keeps me going to know that you have taken your precious time off just to read on my humble (distorted) thoughts and it matters not whether you agree or disagree with me because we will always agree to disagree >D

To my very 100th Facebook like, thank YOU Chanel Chua for liking my page and making this day so memorable to me.

To my very 100th GFC reader, thank YOU Holly-Bella Casell for keeping me going on <3

To those of you who comes in between, thank YOU ALL SO MUCH because without you guys, I will never get my 100th reader!

To celebrate this special day, I am going to share 2 funny facts with all of you just so that everyone can have a laugh and share my happiness with me!

First Funny Fact

My ideal colour of a car would be either white or black because I think a car looks most elegant in this two colousr (except for VW Beetle in Yellow) but little did we know that the older Chinese generation  actually DISAPPROVES of this two colours for cars!  The big WHY?!

My aunt just dropped the bomb on me this evening lol!  According to superstition, white car signifies the ambulance whereas the black car signifies the undertaker's car (touchwood!) which is why older Chinese people will NEVER buy a black or white car!

Second Funny Fact

We used to think humans are funny and that they are aliens because we have hair growing at very weird places like eyebrows in the upper part of your head, armpits, chest hair and not just hair all over our body.

Do you know how hilarious it is for a human to not have eye brows?  Ever thought of it?

You will go from this

To this.

I am giving you nightmares, aren't I?

Okay BAD Photoshop skill but you get the gist >D  SO, be thankful of your brows! Don't over pluck them all off or you might just look like the person above, which is NOT comfortable to look at! <3

Be happy for who you are and what you have, don't change yourself too much just to follow the trend because if it is the no eyebrows trend now, I will... I would.. IT'S NEVER HAPPENING ALRIGHT!

Again, thank you guys so much for making this day happen for me.  It's been a great achievement and together we shall achieve even more!

And like I said, since GFC is going away, BlogLovin is replacing instead so give my BlogLovin some love so that I am able to share my love with you guys as well! <3
