Welcoming 2015 and Saying My Last Goodbyes to 2014

There was so many thoughts and words on my mind before I started writing but when faced with a blank canvas, I guess the mind copied the idea of blank canvas being cool and most of my thoughts, jumbled or not seem to be gone so lets see if it flows back as I write on.

Well, first of all, time indeed does fly and it has been exactly half a year since I have last been on this platform.  My once before constant platform that I turn to to express my thoughts has been rocked and it is not because of a New Year or a New Year resolution that made me came back.  It's just coincidence that something happened today and it made me thought of this this platform that I once have and will always have.  It's like a long lost love whom I know I can always fall back on at any time, any place, waiting for me loyally as long as I intend to return.

The start of a new year and this is the time where everyone seems to be busy making resolutions, except me.  The last time I made a NY resolution was at the end of 2k12, over here and wow, that nostalgic sense that is kicking in as I revisit my older posts.  I am just smiling in my seat, recalling the times where I have fulfilled some of the resolutions and looking at those that has not been fulfilled yet and wondering if I should make another set of NY resolutions for this year.

The fun part of making a (long) list of NY resolutions is the satisfaction feelings that you get when you achieved it because you get to put a big, fat, tick on those that you have finished.  Gives you a sense of motivation, that's what resolutions are all about.  It's like a small gentle push that you need before jumping off the cliff on that bungee jump.  You know it's going to be alright but at times, you still need that gentle push to help you get going.

Ahh 2014, where to start.  Each year has been a roller coaster ride because it's impossible to go through 365 days doing the exact same thing and facing the exact same circumstances everyday but 2014, it has been quite a ride.  I've done a lot of things I never thought I was capable of doing, faced a lot of troubles that I never thought I would ever have to face and the year ended and started with a bang.

A short summary to you and to myself of what happened in 2014:

1.  Travelled to a few different countries for a long period of time and truly enjoying myself, one of which I travelled there alone, something that I have never done before but something that surprisingly, I enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to the next travel be it with or without company;

2.  Discovering that words will always only be words and you can never measure the depth and value of words that one says:  Never hold a person's word too much because it's like water:  it can never take a solid form and it will morph according to the situation that fits it best, hence, action speaks louder and carries more truth than words;

3.  I have finally truly experienced Autumn, it's really beautiful :);

4.  Met up with a friend that I've met online from 7 years back who turns out to be exactly who he says he is and not some psychotic, scary man who would try to run away with my organs or so;

5.  Understanding the idea that when one door closes, two more opens up.  One friend goes, a few other approaches;

6.  Life is funny and things happens in a really weird and unsuspecting manner.  It's like cancer, you never know when and how it hits you, it just does and when it happens, you have to deal with it;

7.  Finding another me, it's interesting, especially for a narcissist like me who loves mirror, it's like talking to my own reflection but one who actually talks back, which brings me to the next thought <- well when I describes it like this it sounds a little creepy but I meant it in the best possible way!;

8.  I have found another me but I am still on a journey to find myself.  I am lost at sea and am trying to find that sanctuary, that island that would save me but the question and unknown answer it: Would I find it?

9.  I picked up drawing and cooking in 2014, it's really fun while I was at it;

10.  Met a celebrity at Apple Store and many more but that's where the list should end for now.

Reading back at the list, it does not sound like I had a good year but in all honesty, I think I did had a good year and am hoping this year would be just as interesting and challenging as the last and I am looking forward to a few things in 2015.

The reason I didn't make a list of resolutions for this year is because I already know what I want (for some) and I will try to achieve it by all means but on other areas, it's still hella grey and I am still looking for my way out.

Another question that lingers:  Have I been a better person in 2014 than I was in 2013? Am I a wiser person today than I was last year? I don't know the answer and I can't answer it for sure myself because it would have been a very bias answer but instead of looking back that much, I  tell myself to  look forward more and strive to be a better person each coming day.  Work smarter, be wiser, walk faster, be tougher, love harder, do everything better then at least at the end of 2015, I am able to tell myself, I have tried and did my best everyday, living life to the fullest each day without regrets.

Looking forward to having you, 2015.  Lets take on this year together, hand in hand and not against one another! Good bye 2014, I will always remember you :3

Shoo Shoo Negativity!

Humans are interesting.  We are interesting.  We are all so full of life and so aware of what's happening around us everyday, so full of colours and energy and yet behind all that, there are times where we channel it towards the wrong direction.  Sometimes self inflicted, sometimes it's the circumstances around you.

Recently I have been doing some reading here and there and I came across one line which struck me deeply:

"Love fades"

And it got me thinking.  Maybe I was reading too much into that line but I've decided that whatever that little voice at the back of my mind is telling me, I agree with it.

I agree that no matter how good or bad those feelings are when something good or bad happens, it will eventually fade away with time.  Where good things happens, perhaps there's a picture of it to strengthen the memories and feeling of that particular good moment, say a birthday party, wedding, your first concert and things like that.  Whereas the bad things, doesn't matter if it's a hurt or angst that you were feeling, no matter how much hurt it caused you at that particular moment and how you were telling yourself you are not going to survive this? Well that's not true because that hurt, that angst, will fade away if only you will let it.

If you truly believe that you can recover completely from it, that's not true either.  It's like falling down and scraping your knees.  You will recover from the fall and your knees will heal but there will always be a scar there, reminding you of the fall.  It's the same in life.  Even after a while, when all those hurt and angst fades, there will be a small scar at the back of your mind or heart, reminding you that the event did indeed happen but you would've have already felt much better by now.  It might still leave a little anger or sadness in you but you could overlook the event now and in a sense, that self recovery is also self toughening and self conditioning to be a stronger, guarded person.  Slightly wiser, I would say, or I would hope to say.

I know this is cliché and overused but still I quote, "If it's not okay, it's not the end because at the end, it will always be okay".  True to a certain extent, or at least I wish for it to be true.

We can survive this.  We are already surviving this.  I can do this.

Until next time, my little berries.

Eternal Love

It's either this size or the original size which is really big, so sorry about that but to look at the picture, just open it in a new tab or click to view it =D  You can also view my other works in www.mishberries.deviantart.com

This is the story of our life, the two women who loves each other eternally.

It begins with the day I was born, not via natural birth but via caesarian because I was just that cooperative right from the start.  It wasn't easy having me, whether it's during pregnancy or after birth.  My mom never had a good night sleep after I was born because I simply refuse to sleep at night (seems like I was born to be a nocturnal person after all xD) and I would just cry and scream my little lungs out at almost every hour during the night and being a person with a full time job , I was driving her insane but yet she tolerated and loved me so dearly.

Then comes the time when I could nearly walk and talk.  She was always there for me, for every single stage of my life.  She taught me my first baby steps and always telling me that it is okay to fall and get hurt because as I recover from it, I become a tougher and wiser person.  Sometimes she knows I am making a mistake but instead of preventing me from doing it or scolding me, she watch me make that mistake but she knows it is a lesson well learnt for me and those are what we call life lessons.

Being the only child, it also means I am the jewel of her eyes but contrary to everyone else's belief, my mom does not spoil or spoon fed me.  In fact, she treats me like another young adult since a young age, trusting me to do chores and let me act independently, provided if I let her know exactly where I am going, what I am going to do or what time I will be home and from there, we bonded and cemented our trust into opening up to each other and not concealing things from one another.  From there, she taught me how to trust and respect another person.

She taught, showed, naaaaaaaaaaggggeeeeddd and still is teaching me everyday on how to be a better person, a more sincere person not only to others, but especially to myself.  She also taught me that at times it is okay to be at the disadvantage as long as we think we are not overly taken advantage off and we do not have to go all the way to prove that we are right all the time because given way is not an act of weakness, but it is an act of showing care and love for another's feeling and well-being.

She is a much tougher person than I am in a lot of sense, and definitely much wiser, because as they say a chip of the old block, she did inherit after my smarty, cunning, adorable Grandma after all xD  Though we are nowhere near Grandma's standard but hey, having parts of her flowing in us is pretty much good enough <3

Though of course, no matter how much love there is between the two of us, it is unavoidable that we too, have our differences and the way we fight it out is fun, we shout it all out but hey, better loudness than violence o/

Regardless of whatever that happens, at the end of the day, even without spoken words where we just lay down side by side in silence, just a simple nudge or cuddle is more than enough and we understands exactly how much we love and care each other.

To the only woman whom I love eternally,

Happy Mother's Day, buibui <3

Celebrated Earth Hour for 12 Years Consecutively

You know what the title meant?

It meant I had a blackout last night.  For 12 hours.  So for the next 12 years I ain't going to participate in any Earth Hour Day just because I've already did a crash course of it, all in one night and its filled with sweat (given the crazy hot weather) and guess who decided to crash the party on this unfortunate night? Dem mosquitoes.

I was at my wits ends, tossing and turning at 4 am in the morning and I show up today looking like @.@ and my head's spinning like @.@

But, like what they always call me, Optimist Mish has strike again!  In the midst of darkness and warmth, I still manage to humour myself when I was preparing to shower before bed.  I took all my shower necessities and it was only halfway walking through the bathroom that I've taken my toothbrush, facial wash (among others) AND my spectacle casing.  I mistaken it for my toothpaste xD

The absence of electronics (and the Internet) has never been felt so badly until last night when I am cut off from my computer and also my phone because I have not charged it but fear not, because Optimist Mish striked twice last night!  Me and my friend decided in less than 5 minutes to run out in the middle of the night to catch a late night movie just so that we could escape the heat for 2 hours (and yay for yummy popcorns) before going back to reality and we ended up watching Brick Mansion.

In all honesty, the movie wasn't that great (story line wise) but seeing Paul Walker all over again and knowing that's his last film actually made it worth watching ;_;

There's just one thing to this blackout that made me want to cry a little.  As you all might (not) know, I started drawing digitally on my free time recently and last night I was midway through one piece when the blackout occur.  I was already spamming Ctrl + S when I was drawing out of habit but I am not sure when was the last time I save before the blackout so fingers crossed that almost everything is still there because I would rage quit drawing if the piece that I've drawn is gone =<

Hopefully electricity is back on and life shall be smooth sailing once more today! I will post some random update photos below so be sure to check them out and I will see you guys real soon! ;D

Humans are like Fruits

Yep, you heard me right.

I was skinning off my apple and then it simply occur to me what other words that we could use to describe a human being other than the normal materialistic, kind, pretty, hot, bitchy, pretty on the outside, rotten on the inside or vice versa, we could simply say that they are like fruits!

You could buy a basket full of apples, bring it home and leave it in your fridge or anywhere you normally put your fruits and until the day you want to eat it, you walk over and start picking them up one by one, selecting from either the best looking one to eat or the worst looking one to eat (depending on each individual) or some would just simply pick one up without really minding.

Tonight, I randomly picked one up and when I was washing it, I thought to myself "Woots, I got a pretty looking apple this time" because the skin looks perfect, no dents, nice colouration and as I was skinning it, I noticed it was actually a bit rotten and swollen on the inside.  Well that's still fine but when I was eating it, it didn't taste as good as well =< Less juicy, not as sweet as the ones before which has more rotten looking, wrinkly skin and then it struck me, hey, does this not apply to us human as well?

Many times, not all the time but many a time, those who looks better or is richer or smarter, they look real great on the outside.  They have the looks, they have the brains, put simply, they've got the swag but on the inside, they are really nasty but many a time, those who does not look as good on the outside, they turn out to be real angels on the inside.

The ideal person would be someone who is pretty on the outside, darn pretty on the inside as well but these does not come by regularly but I am fortunate enough to have come by a number of these type of people in my life.  To name one would be my mom.  She's really pretty on the out side, still look darn great for her age now and still have a kind soul.  That being said though, she's got the temper of a tigress buuuuuuuut I will talk about that another time (if I live to tell the tale xD).  Well, no one's that ideal, apparently =P

Fortunately for me though, I've come across those who has the means but yet they still retain the same humility and humbleness like the rest of us, if not more.  The one that I know actually offers a helping hand much more than any of us ever did because first, they can, second, they really are sincere in helping others.  I've actually learnt this from seeing someone close to me, he would never fail to help those in need like an old crippled aunt who always camps outside a certain mall with an old dog or just a little kid who would come and sell small little boxes of mochi.  If he could, he would pay them much more than the amount that it is worth so this shows that sometimes, a person can truly be beautiful on the outside and equally beautiful on the inside.

But of course, there are times when some of them who does not look as good has an equally repulsive enough manner to really just invite everyone else around them for some good free punches and that's really just like fruits.

When you pick one papaya up and just simply judging it by the skin, you might be dead set right about how it taste like just by looking at it or you could be so wrong and that's all for this time!

See you guys real soon! <3

Singing Is Not My Forte

But it is something that I like and enjoy doing.

I used to tell those around me that one of the things to do in my life is to record a song and put it on YouTube one fine day and like everything else, days passes in the blinks of eyes and there's still no song, no YouTube.

One night, I decided to pick up my 10 bucks microphone from years back and just started singing and recording in really bad quality and bad singing.  After that I decided to send it to my Godbrother for some laughs and what a turn of events.  Instead of laughing at me, he actually encouraged me to post it on YouTube.  What he said was if I never do it that night, I will never do it and I will never start.  He told me everyone needs a starting point and that is one truth that I cannot ignore so I did.

I posted my first ever singing video on YouTube on 7th of February this month and by today, I've posted my 3rd video.  It is far from perfection, very near to imperfection but hey, one achievement accomplished in life is one step nearer to chasing down all your dreams and doing them and that in itself is something special and intimate to yourself.  Its like feeding your soul with happiness and with life instead of just stressing and dumping it with work loads and tiredness.

I know that I still sound like I have not gone through puberty nor someone with great vocal but I am glad and thankful enough to have a voice to use and because of that, it overcome my fear and shyness of sharing it with all of you.  Quite on the contrary, I am happy and humbly would like to share my singing with the rest of you and hope that you would in turn chase down your dreams and do it irregardless of what type of dream it is.

So here's Stay The Night by Zedd ft Hayley Williams for you =3

Aftermath (Nightmare) of Valentines 2014

For some, Valentines Day is all about loving one another more on that special day, dressing and spending candle light dinner together and wrapped in each other's arms.

For some, its about spending that day alone and hating the world and the chocolates while refusing to step out of one's home just so they would not be caught for murdering lovely couples on the street.

For me, its making a fool out of myself, once again.

The story is, you obviously dress up and try to look appropriate for valentines so here I am, decent looking enough =3

 *Smiles*

Then when its time for food, of all the things to be served, there's this awesome dish known Squid Ink Spaghetti (It has a fancy French name but I am too lazy to look it up xD) and its known to taste really rich and good and hey, it looks great.

It looks like this <3

Looking good, check!
Awesome food, check!
Teeth...?

O.M.G.

Nightmare.

This ain't true.

This ain't happening.

Yeah well... that valentines lunch escalated pretty quickly from there.

Jk xD It was valentines lunch over at my Godparent's place and we all ended up looking like that but still, one could not resist laughing at one another when we all look like we've just finished tarring the roads with our mouth.

Its just a heads up for all of you, do not eat anything squid ink related stuff whenever you are out in public or order anything with lots of black pepper with it when you are on a date with someone new because you will end up looking like the Wicked Witch from.. well, wherever you are seated at that moment =p

On another whole new random note, I never realized my hair has grown so long o_o I chopped it all off in December 2012 and whoa, 1 year and 2 months + multiple time of cutting, my hair is really pretty long and I did not realized it until today when I asked my godbrother to help me take a picture cause of the braid.

Long hair is long lol! (back view)

How it looks from the front <3

One of the Toughest Question: Describe Yourself

Despite the amount of time some of us spend in front of the mirrors scrutinizing each inch of the mirror reflection of ourselves, when this question pops out, we would always do a double take, ponder and then try to answer this question seriously but we could never truly accurate describe ourself.  Its like forever trying to grasp which shade of colour we are but we always miss the mark:  we either describe ourself as too pale a shade or too bright a shade.

Lets not go all deep and describe or measure our intelligence by the score of our IQ or type of Myers Bridge test.  I shall take the challenge and try do describe myself (face wise) for once.

I have quite a broad face, sharper chin, medium size dark brown eyes (don't you scream FALSE at this point!) that forms into a one liner when I smile or laugh (see I am admitting this fact but I DO have eyes pft!), average nose with a 'button' tip, normal size lips, not too big not too small not too thin nor too full, layered hair from neck length (shortest point) to nearing waist length (longest point) and with pores on my face, yellow skin shade.

And that's how I see myself in the mirror.  Perhaps others see the same, perhaps others sees differently, I don't know, I cannot be my own judge.

I came across this video by chance and I thought it was a wonderfully made video and if I could, I would make you watch it but I can't so I would simply, politely ask you to watch it and hope it reaches out to you like it did to me.

It is a 3 minute video and it currently has 61 million views so it has to mean something, so please, do watch it.

Most of the people around me sees things beautifully and the best side of another person but when it comes to themselves, they are unnecessarily harsh on judging themselves and I think it is high time to change that.  We are mere mortal and we are on a very different league than Angelina Jolie or Chris Hemsworth but that does not make us any less disabled than them and it is something that we should realize.  Some of us may never look like cover girls but hey, we have heaps and abundance of happiness in our life and for that alone, it is simply enough.

We are growing each day and in a blink of an eye, we will start to sprout grey hairs, wrinkles and then we simply pass on and turn to dust so don't be so hard on yourself.  Love thyself, for there's only one of you and you, my dear friend, is special.

Lots of love,
Mish

"HEY WE'VE GOT A FREE NETFLIX ACCOUNT!" / Internet = Car

My Godbrother's friend decided to give her additional Netflix account to us because she wouldn't be using it for this year anyways and thus, we celebrate because

1. Its Netflix;
2. It's free!!

That IS a valid reason to celebrate!

20 seconds later

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

"We are sorry but Netflix is not supported in your country." in their freaking default font.

What.

Thank you awesome country, for blocking out Netflix. -bow-

URGH, dem rage.

That was 5 months ago and yesterday while talking to this Murican friend of mine, he said he's watching Attack on Titans on Netflix and I casually popped in saying we do not have Netflix here.

"HOW DO YOU LIVE WITHOUT NETFLIX?!" was his reply.

My reply was, "Well, I have THE INTERNET." So much win \o / At least imo its a win ;w;

Let me put it this way for you.

The internet is like the engine of a car which is the most important part of the car, the life of the car.  Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, (colour)tube, etc, they are all merely accessories to the Internet / Car.  If you have them, all the better as they boost the human experience but if you have some and is lacking some, overall as long as you still have the care engine and it runs, I can still make do with that because it still takes me to my destination somehow, one way or another because without Internet.

The car engine is equivalent to your Internet.  The horse power is equivalent to your internet speed.  You have a Proton, well good luck to you.  You will reach your destination 10 light years later like how that YouTube is loading at 144p and its still taking forever.

You have a Toyota, woots, thats like having 4MB speed.

You have a BMW, that's fibre optic for you.

Ferrari?  That's 4G right there man.  "What's that?  It's a bird!  Its a helicopter! Nooo! IT'S FOUR GEEEEEE!"

So yes, we still manage to live in a country without Netflix because le power of the Internet is unstoppable!  As long as we have the Internet we shall thrive and repopulate like there's no tomorrow!

Your car tyres or type of car like a manual or automatic car is comparable to your gaming mouse or keyboard.  It is all part of aiding the user experience but the engine, is still the most important of all.

Random post is random, yep yep.

I am a little mind blown by myself.

Bye!

Meet My New Lover(s)

A friend was telling me that her one true love is sleep.  I told her for mine, I know its selfish but I cannot live with one without the other so today, let me introduce you to my one true love (divided equally right in the middle): Sleep and Food.

Yes, meet my two new lovers who shares my one equal love: 50% Food and 50% Sleep.

The funny thing is, she mentioned that it would be 'preferably if you don't do both at once' and ironically I told her that I had!  You would do both at once when you are in a coma or anesthetized and you are being connected to the drip (glucose saline).  That way, you are sleeping and being fed at the same time!  Sad thing is you will not feel full from it and you end up with a swollen hand (whichever hand that drip is connected to).

And because of this, she invoked some deep memories from before that I really wanted to share with you guys!  Sharing this genius side of me with all of you that you rarely see <3

That one time when I had an operation and I had to stay over at the hospital for a couple of days,  naturally I was 'handcuffed' to one of those drip (which does not fill your stomach >.> Yes I know I've mentioned it before but I feel the need to clarify it once more!  Don't judge!)  and those drips are invisible and you could see the clear saline inside it right?

Guess what I started noticing?  It was tainted with blood!  MY blood.

I must be one heck of a bloody genius to place my hand higher than the drip.  The nurse told me that I would be doing a blood donation instead of the drip flowing into my body lolol.

Yes I think I was a certified idiot back at that hospital during the period I stayed in and I thought I would like to share this short, funny, little adventure that I had back before puberty hits me <3

Time

"As much as we can't turn back time, time will unfold our stories eventually."  - Mishberries

At least that is one thing I've learnt so far.  Everyday, one of us live in regrets of things that we have done in the past, or at times, things that we did not do in the past.  We re-live the conversations or the actions in our head, frown upon it and shake that thoughts away because there's simply nothing that we can do to change it.  Some of us however, get trapped in that thought and we fail to free ourself from its vine-tight grip, hence despairing and regretting over it more.

Time also changes everything about a person.  Sometimes, even more surprisingly, time does not affect some people and they remain the same after all these years.  Time also pushes you to do things and get things done, when you know your time is nearly up.

Time, all in all, is a very powerful matter in our life.  We can't see it, we can't hold it, we can't hear it, but we keep track of it all the time.  Time to go to bed, time to wake up to start a new day, time to pass up your assignments, time for tea break, competitions, exams, etc.  For something that we cannot grasp, every nanosecond of it has became so important to us and we strap watches to ourselves to remind us of its existence.

Time of birth.  Time of death.  Tick tock.  Tick tock.

Whatever we do, we sleep, we drink, we get high and lose sense of time, time still keeps ticking away and before you realize it, two decades has passed just like that, in a blink of an eye.  I remembered when I was still 2 years old and I fell from the stairs.  Even got stitches as souvenir from it.

One blink of an eye, its 2 decades later and me pondering over this matter.  Time has proven man to be fools but time has also proven man to be invaluable to human history, like Einstein.  Time tells the story like no other.

There was a period of time where I was rash and foolish.  Do things just because I wanted to without thinking of consequences.  Say things before I think how much it would affect the situation.  Many a time, one would say "Just do it, for the heck of it".  It means time has not taught them well but time has taught me well.  It had taught me how to more adaptable, older and wiser.

Not much wiser than I was before but at least, slightly wiser is better than none.  Time has been the factor to push people to take various decisions in their lives.  Pushing people to study hard to graduate on time.  Pushing people to think that being single at the age of nearing three decades is bad because they should have started a family ages ago.  Pushing people to stabbing their friends to get to their position in a company.  Pushing giant companies to sell heavenly price cosmetic product because time will wither a person's youth.  Time, it's all about time and it's all about timing.

At times, that encouragement or push from time drives you on the right track and you do the right thing.  That's call "Right Timing".  Sometimes, that encouragement or push from time make you do crazy things.  That's call "Bad Timing" and "Bad Decisions" but ultimately, you can or cannot blame time.  Time is merely an encouragement, not a deciding factor.  You yourself, are the deciding factor and you hold the decision.

As of these few months and few more months to come, I can see myself, stuck at this cross road with two very different roads.  To put it simply, they are extending in the opposite direction and taking either road will lead me to very different places than where I am today and it reminded me so strongly of the work of Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken.

For all of you who has not read it, it's a short poem where the Author is having a dilemma in his life because he is given two roads to journey on and he knows if he take one road, he might never have the time or opportunity in life to take the other road.

For me, instead of making that journey now, I've decided to sit back and relax at this cross road and time will unfold its story to me, letting me know which road should I take.  Will the grass on the right side of the road flourish better or will the one on the left bloom beautifully?  I wouldn't know, but for this time around, time will be kind and reveal it to me.

Time isn't always this kind but thankfully, for once, it will be kind to me.

Time, our ultimate story teller of the universe.  Time, the holder of all the mysteries of the world and on rare occasions, it let us in on one of its little secrets but most of the time, Time is not that forgiving and far more secretive.

________

The extract of The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost (1920) is penned down here for you:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less travelled by
And that has made all the difference.

"Absence

Makes the heart grows fonder."

Does it really now?

Did you miss my blog while I was away?  I am sure only one person missed me, which is Ditsy <3  She never gave up on me, so how can I give up on myself?

I have been here everyday, spent 10 hours or more right in front of my computer but never get to actually blog about anything because November has been a bad month, not only for myself but a number of people I know.  Whether it's your personal belongings, relationships, monetary wise, it has been a bad month and right up in 2 days time, it's gonna be Friday 13th, life's just great.

But lets be honest, we can't be climbing up the entire way right?  We are bound to come to a downfall somewhere in between and I am feeling semi downfall, semi floating but one thing I know, I will always pick myself up from where I fall.  People thinks I am optimistic, I just think I absolutely refuse to fail and neglect myself because I love myself too much and by not gloating in my own sorrow, I actually make other people happy as well so it goes well for both ways.  I stay happy, other people stay happy too.

So what are the things that makes you happy?  Makes you feel like for a short moment of time in a day, you can wipe away all your worries and tuck it safely at the back of your mind?  A hug from the person you love?  A plate of good dinner?  A beautifully latte art coffee?  Reading? Sports? The list is endless but I realize for me, I always fall back to music, and me.

Just me, myself and I, and my music.  Every single night before going to bed, I will listen to a dose of music while doing nothing really.  Simply listening to music feels like its cleansing my soul and recharging me, preparing for the next day.

Life's sort of great, sort of not that great recently but time never stops ticking for us.  It goes on forever.  It has ticked for trillions of seconds before me, it will continue to tick for trillions after I am gone, that is if the world has not been defeated by natural disaster or man-caused disasters.

Acceptance is the first step towards anything.  To heal, you got to accept that you are hurt.  To sprint, you have to accept that you have to push forward.  To accept, is to move forward.

Whatever it is, I am back here and hope you are still there.  If not, by the time you are back, I will still be waiting right here.

5 Seconds Later

This morning I dreamt I was playing with a cute chubby brown cat or more like, attacked by a cute chubby brown cat and it was sticking itself to my body like how a magnet sticks to a fridge.  Mind image for you:

1 Minute MS Paint Job

And 5 seconds later, the moment I woke up the first thought that came to me was " I have to wash my hands".

Then just now I was being a part time gardener (again) (You can check out my Instagram for my previous works <3 Name: Mishberries) and today, I decided to be slightly not so creative and decided to reproduce what I saw in Disneysea Japan last year, but in my own style <3

Find the Hidden Mickey!

And le gardener thyself <3

And

5 eventful seconds later.

You must be asking, what happened?  Why are the leaves scrambled?  Where's Mishberries?

The answer to 5 seconds later after the first picture of the leaves: (It's a gif, so wait for it to load <3)

Yes, ouch is the right word lol.  Mayhem when the two angelic (demon) puppies joined me in my little adventure >D

P/s:  Epic gif done by my Godbrother <3<3

I see you guys next round, remember to follow me on my Facebook (by liking the Like button on the right) or my Instagram (Name: Mishberries) <3

Ambulance Waaeeeeyooo Waaaeeeeyooo

Waaaaeeeeyooooo.

When you hear that sound on the road, there's two things that you would do.  First, jump in your seat.  Second, check if your seatbelt is strapped.  I mean many times during that split second when I hear a siren, my first thought would normally be the police and the I would check whether my seat belt is strapped or not as a second nature movement though I know 99% of the time I never move my car without first strapping my seatbelt on but that guilty alarm in me just trigger off anyway.

Many times however, it turns out to be the ambulance instead.  Where I came from, my home town, whenever people hear the ambulance siren, they simply continue drive like the ambulance is just but another car with an extra kinky horn sound and would not budge an inch to let the ambulance pass.  You know why?  Because they would say "Ah there's no one inside, they just want to past through this jam the easy way" and if someone do give way and the ambulance sped away, you will NOT be surprised to see a few cars who's stuck in the traffic jam, swerve and tail the empty space led by the ambulance as though they are some important ministry escorts.  It's pretty ridiculous but you know, most of us just shrug and forget all about it when the light turns green because hey, there's only that many seconds the light will stay green and all of us are trying to get past that traffic light and reach our destination the soonest possible, especially when the sun is scorching so hot.

Where I am now, it's much better.  Whenever there's an ambulance, most of the cars will swerve in all sorts of ridiculous manners just to let the ambulance pass and then wait patiently for the traffic light without trying to pull a Fast and Furious stunt, tailing behind the ambulance and I really appreciate that.

I never really get to appreciate this act of letting an ambulance pass that much until last year in June, when my mom and I was visiting my 97 year old grandma and you could imagine how my mom panicked when we arrived and we saw the maid crying and wailing.  My mom ran to the room and saw that my grandma was suffocating and gasping for air.  I am glad that I kept a cool mind and called the ambulance calmly while my mom was nearing a nervous breakdown herself.  That 10 or 15 minutes long wait for the ambulance, I can tell you from personal experience, that it is absolutely horrendous and mind torturing. With every second that pass, I swore and swore relentlessly under my breath as to why are they taking so long.  I pray and pray with every second that they get the house address right and not miss a turn and end up somewhere.   The swearing helps with calming and my prayers was answered, they arrived and within the next 20 minutes, my grandma was admitted to the emergency ward.

She managed to last though that journey but she didn't make it through the next day.  My grandma passed away on the midnight of that day.

But, till today, it feels like she has never really left us because she was so great and so strong when she was alive, even after she's gone, she's already moulded that bond and etched that image of hers so deeply in our mind that she seems to be forever living, through our memories and our stories of her.

It was from that moment onwards that it was embedded so deeply in me.  Whenever I hear a siren and I see that it's an ambulance, I immediately give way without a second thought.  I do not care whether or not the ambulance officers are abusing their powers or they are really on the way to help another distress family, it does not matter.  What matters to me is, they get to their destination as soon as possible.

I've decided to share this moment with you today and I hope you in return, would decide to share this with another person because you never know, when you will be the one waiting for the ambulance to arrive and when you are left so helpless, you could only pray that others would be more considerate and give way to the ambulance.

I will see you guys soon.

Love,
Mish

25 Things by Mary

Recently I came across a widely circulated piece of blog on the net, it's call the "25 Things I Want Myself to Know at 25", written by Mary Schmidt and I find truth in what she's found out and I would love to share with all of you if you have not read it yet.

Though we are at our quarter-life crisis, life goes on and it only gets better by the year as you age and wizen up so without further ado, I shall copy paste like a pro her great piece <3 Original link HERE.

"I turned 25 this year and I had a bit of a quarter life crisis. I felt like I didn’t know what I was doing and I was looking for advice on how to navigate this crazy adventure that is my 20’s. So for my birthday I asked my family to write a letter to themselves at 25, imparting some kind of wisdom or advice to their former self that they wish they had known at my age. My family is pretty cool and they are all people who I look up to, so I was excited to see what they would have to say.
I have loved reading the responses I have received (I actually might have used one or two of them). Reading their letters inspired me to write down things I want myself to know now, at 25. So I did. Without further ado, here is my list of 25:
1.  Most of the time, you don’t know anything about anything. That was true when you were 15 and that will be true when you are 65. You do, however, know how to be a good person and you know how to follow your heart. Keep doing that and you’ll be just fine.
2.  Don’t go on Facebook so much. Seriously, it’s a waste of time.
3.  You’re 25. You’re not in college anymore. You know how to cook a healthy meal. STOP EATING TOP RAMEN, your body doesn’t like it.

4.  Also, it’s time to start drinking a little more responsibly. You started too young and you’ve been in this game for over a decade. However, unlike when you were 15 no one is going to think you are any cooler for taking that extra tequila shot. Slow down on the booze.

5.  Remember to always love your big strong legs, your bubble butt, the plumpness of your head, the way your eyes squint when you smile, and the petiteness of your lips. They are precious family heirlooms that have been handed down to you from generations of brilliantly beautiful people.

6.  Be grateful for that moment when you decided to stop being such a sarcastic asshole and let your guard down long enough to fall in love and let someone fall in love with you. Even if it ends in heartbreak, it is still one of the greatest adventures you have been on.

7.  Speaking of adventure, keep doing it. Travel the world as often as money and time will allow because you know how invaluable those experiences are but don’t forget about the smaller adventures. Those weekend getaways with your best friends, the 3 days spent caravanning around the state to help your brother and sister-in-law move into a new house, or the afternoons spent in a retirement community with your parents. Those experiences are just as invaluable and they fill your soul.

8.  Always make time for your parents. They might live for another 67 years…but they probably won’t. Enjoy the time you spend with them. Don’t try to rush off the phone when they are telling you about their week. Enjoy getting to know them as their adult child and realize that they still have a lot to teach you.

9.  In fact, make time for everyone in your life. You have a lot of people in your life who you love and who love you, be grateful. Don’t ever become one of those people who just gets too “busy.” Make time for the walk in the park, the cup of coffee, the glass of wine, the phone conversation. Make time.
10.  Posture. Work on that. That curve in your back is going to be a lot more painful when you’re 70.
11.  You’re kind of turning into a grouch. Stop that. Immediately. Yes, life has thrown you some pretty awful curve balls over the years. That will continue to happen until you die, it’s part of life. Let it make you grateful for all that you have. Let it make you stronger for having made it through. Let it make you compassionate for the 7 billion other people in the world who are dealing with their own struggles. Don’t let it make you bitter, don’t let it make you cynical, and DO NOT, whatever you do, let it take away your sunshine.
12.  Stop comparing yourself to your peers. You do you. You’re good at that.

13.  Stop worrying so much about what your job is going to be. It’s boring. Yes, you need to make money. But more importantly, you need to make a life for yourself. You need to make community. You need to make yourself and others happy. You need to make the world a better place. There are a lot of other things you need to make, don’t get so caught up in finding a job that you forget to make them.

14.  Keep writing. Know that some of the things you write will be really bad. Write anyway. Write because it makes you happy. Write because it’s important to have hobbies. Write because sometimes, on very rare occasions, the things you write will be more powerful than you would have ever thought possible.
15.  Keep going after the life that you want live. I am going to be really pissed if 65 year old Mary is sitting alone in a house in the suburbs with 10 cats. Unless of course somewhere along the way that is what I decided I want, in which case it’s totally fine.
16.   It is good to have a plan but remember that it is OK to wander off the path a little and get lost. You have an amazing support system that will be there with you through it all.
17.  Please don’t sell out. You’re better than that.
18.  Be thankful that you are the youngest in your family and you have been able to learn from the mistakes of your siblings. But also be thankful that you are able to learn from their success and the wonderful people they have become.
19.  Be fearless and be brave. You are no longer the two year old little girl who was scared to go in the sand and walk down stairs. You are the young woman who has traveled the world, worked for causes you believed in and taken on a multinational financial institution. You are brave and you are fearless. Don’t forget it.
20.  Even though you really want a dog, wait. You can barely take care of a fish.
21.  Same goes for kids. Just wait. I’m sure you’ll make a great mom one day but that day doesn’t have to be anytime soon.

22.  Read more books. Blogs are great. Online media is great. But don’t forget to close your computer every once and awhile and pick up a real book or a newspaper.
23.  Believe in something bigger than you. Something that you will never understand. Whether it’s God or the Universe just believe in something because when everything else fails, which is bound to happen, all you’ll have left is your faith that things will get better.
24.  Always spend time in nature. Work in the garden and get dirt in your nails. Look up at the redwoods and know that you will never see the top. Stand at the edge of the ocean and wonder what’s beyond the horizon. Take it all in.
25.  Lastly, I think you’re wonderful. You forget this sometimes so I just wanted to remind you."

The entire piece is written by MARY SCHMIDT and not a word belongs to me.  Link to her post is HERE.  She's really fabulous <3
